What kind of Mac do you have?

Anyone interested in sharing the configuration of your Mac or Macs?

I bought my first Mac in June 2004 ... a Dual 2.5 PowerMac G5. Yeah I know, an awesome system to have for a Switcher! However, the system didn't arrive until the last week of August 2004 as a result of IBM's manufacturing and yield problems with the PowerPC processor when they bumped the speed to 2.5 GHz. Thousands of people who ordered the Dual 2.5 had to wait several weeks to get their systems. I couldn't believe the wait and my first experience buying a Mac wasn't the greatest. I didn't start using it until September 1, 2004 and I can now say the wait was worth it. I love my Mac and it's been an amazing Switch experience.

So here are the stats of my system and add ons:

- Dual 2.5 GHz PowerMac
- 3GB RAM
- 256MB ATI Radeon 9800XT Graphics Card
- 8X SuperDrive
- Bluetooth with Apple wireless keyboard and mouse
- 460GB internal hard drive
- 250GB external Lacie D2 hard drive
- 23" Cinema HD Display
- External Plextor 708UF DVD/CD Burner

AppleInsider | Apple's June quarter strong as consumers switch to Mac for security:
"People Switch To A Mac for security and stability"

The article is from Appleinsider.com and it's good news for those of us who want to see more people Switch To A Mac. Here's a quote from the article:

"an increasing number of studies are showing that most PC users switching to the Mac platform are doing so because they're fed up with the security and stability woes currently plaguing the Wintel platform."

The article also states that the investment firm PiperJaffray has conducted research indicating that the main reason why people are switching is "stability/security".

All in all, I'm happy to see that more people are beginning to see the benefits of Mac OS X from a security and stability perspective. If you're reading this article and have Switched To A Mac because of security, please post a comment and share your experience.
