Macworld: News: Apple making big inroads in business with OS X

This was a pleasure to read and to share with all of you. OS X is experiencing increased adoption inside the business community. Jupiter Research, a market research firm, states that Mac OS X is taking away market share from other UNIX vendors and even Windows inside companies with more than 250 employees.

Furthermore, OS X is looking like a better alternative to Linux in many corporations. A quote from the article:

“I’m surprised to see just how much Mac OS X has captured the interest of potential Linux switchers,” said Wilcox. “Companies that were considering Linux are now buying Mac OS X instead.”

Overall, this is a great research report and is speaks of Apple and OS X's growth in the business sector. I feel that Apple will continue to see growth in this area and I expect Enterprise software makers to begin offering OS X versions of the products.

Joe Wilcox, author of this study, claims he was misquoted and that the amount of Macs in business is minimal.
